Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (hEDS), Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD)
and Hypermobility

"I've always been flexible, but I didn't know it was related to my dizziness, stomach pain, headaches and knee pain"

Living with Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD) or Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) can be challenging. Joint instability, chronic pain, fatigue, and overlapping conditions such as POTS, dysautonomia, and MCAS can make everyday tough. The mountain is bigger for you, that's for sure. Exercise can feel risky, but with the right guidance, it’s one of the most effective ways to improve your function, capacity, joint stability and quality of life.

Exercise Physiologists specialise in safe, evidence-based exercise for complex conditions. For HSD and hEDS, Eva focuses on:

  • Specific assessments, including a full musculoskeletal screen (e.g. where are you too bendy, what muscles are working too hard to stabilise you, what muscles are not strong enough, proprioception, POTS screening, SPIDER hypermobility analysis, MCAS recognition and referral, plus lots more)

  • Individualised programs: strengthen muscles, support joints, and improve proprioception without increasing injury risk.

  • Pain and fatigue management: improve endurance, daily function, and energy efficiency through graded exercise, pacing, energy conservation strategies, and the use of smart devices and technology.

  • Injury prevention: Correct movement patterns, stabilise joints, and reduce the risk of subluxations and full dislocations.

  • Support for comorbidities: Tailored strategies for autonomic dysfunction, POTS, MCAS, and other overlapping conditions.

  • Confidence and self-management: Learn safe ways to move and maintain an active, independent lifestyle.

With a personalised program, you can build strength, protect your joints, manage symptoms, and regain confidence in your body.
